On selected dates this Easter holiday, join our tour guide Rachel as she takes on the point of view of Maud Butcher, the maid of the former Oaklands House owner Fred Wells.
The talk will be a day in the life of Maud Butcher and how the Wells family might have celebrated Easter. Rachel will be talking about the origin of Easter, how Victorians decorated their eggs, and how Maud would have helped to cook and clean. Plus loads more Easter traditions!
The tour is free to attend, but spaces are limited, so make sure you secure your place. Attendees will be walking around the museum indoors, and possibly outdoors if the weather behaves. Dressing comfortably and being prepared to move around the building is recommended. The tour is estimated to take 30 minutes, but please do allow plenty of time if you have questions or would like to stay and chat.
