A Brief Case of Crazy An award-winning romantic physical comedy from Skedaddle Theatre and Shoddy Theatre in association with York Theatre Royal.

Inspired by the timeless genius of Mr Bean, Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton, A Brief Case of Crazy is a heart-warming and hilarious physical comedy told through slick choreography, mime, clowning and puppetry.

Meet Thomas, an awkward, introverted office worker with a quiet crush on his equally shy colleague, Daisy. His quest for love must contend with a boisterous boss named Simon and a rather bothersome briefcase that drags an awkward introvert into extraordinary events.

Will his quest for love fail? Or will he discover, it’s what’s on the inside that counts? A Brief Case of Crazy is a silent love story with a very loud heart.

“Excellent…A Brief Case of Crazy is an impeccably timed rom-com delight.” - Everything Theatre
“Defintely a company to watch…this is pure theatre” - Broadway World
“Completely electric…like witnessing an evolution of silent film humour into the 21st century, full of sharp timing, goofy charm and unexpected depth” - The Young(ish) Perspective

Older man with black rim glasses with short grey beard and large teeth smile. Neck up shot on the right hand side.
Ian Stone is "Looking for the Wow" Life can’t just be the humdrum, the mundane and the routine before the inevitable slide to disease, decay and death. Why can’t we sneak in a bit of awesome, a tad of amazing and maybe a smidge of wonderful?

A forest canopy opening onto a huge vista would be enchanting for some but my ancestors wandered in the desert for forty years, I think we’ve been outdoors enough.

Others get their fix from the spiritual but I’ve been harbouring a grudge against God since my mother stopped me going to Arsenal after my Barmitzvah. Forty nine years ago. ’God will be watching’ she said. Well, at least he got to see the game. The point is, life could be so much better so I’m on the lookout. Come and join me on the hunt.

Jay Rayner wearing a flowery shirt, leaning over a plate of food holding a fork.
Jay Rayner: Nights Out In the Kitchen Jay Rayner faces some serious questions and in Nights Out in the Kitchen, the show marking publication of his fabulous new cookbook, he’s finally going to answer them. What’s the secret to a great dinner party? Is a restaurant critic, renowned for his negative reviews, just a bit of a scumbag? What’s the best thing you can have on toast? Can you braise spaghetti? And what does a food writer do when they’ve run out of words like crispy, moist and dense? All of these vital issues, posed to Jay by someone very close to his cholesterol-drenched heart, will be up for discussion alongside many more as he sets out on tour.

Join wit, raconteur, and occasional pastry-wrangler Jay Rayner, for a couple of hours of intense foodie insight, fabulous dinner ideas and the occasional dodgy one too.

Top priced tickets receive a signed hardback copy of Nights Out in the Kitchen, to be published in September 2026. It’s the hugely anticipated sequel to Jay’s bestselling first cookbook, Nights Out At Home, and features more recipes inspired by his favourite dishes from over a quarter of a century reviewing restaurants, alongside a whole bunch of his own.

Lucy Porter: Let Yourself Go! Festival favourite Lucy returns with a brand-new show about the power of letting yourself go - in every sense. Whether that means embracing your wrinkles and love handles whilst living in a slanket, or having a couple of babychams and dancing like nobody’s watching (and if you’re a middle-aged woman, they’re probably not). It’s also about letting go of the person you’ve always thought you are, and using your midlife crisis to pursue new goals and reinvent yourself.

Paul Sinha: 2 Sinha Lifetime Paul Sinha returned to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2025 after a dramatic 2023 that saw him booking a ticket to Edinburgh’s Royal Infirmary half-way through his run. The autumn that followed became a flurry of tests, scans and finally the surgery which set him on the road to recovery. With no small debt to the NHS, Paul celebrated his 30th anniversary in stand-up last year and despite his continued quiz successes, his Radio 4 series, and his decision to write a memoir, rather than a hastily patched together murder mystery, Paul is not ready to exit the stage just yet. He is thrilled and delighted to be touring his latest Edinburgh Fringe show around the UK.
